Iranian dissidents in Camp Liberty.

Residents of Camp Liberty protesting against siege held on them
It is about onemonth that Iraqi government has prevented the entry of food, fuel and other vital resources to #Camp Liberty in Iraq where live 2400 #Iranian dissidents. This is while these residents are members of #Iran's main opposition, the People’s Mojahedin organization of Iran (#PMOI) or (#MEK), and were formally recognized as "Protected Persons" under the Fourth Geneva Convention. They were also recognized as "Asylum Seekers" by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in 2011. For six years, forces under U.S.command protected them. Since 2009, the Iraqi government, committed several deadly attacks against these residents, in which no less than 116 unarmed residents were murdered. In 2011, at least 36 residents were also killed and hundreds were wounded in a deadly attack that was done by Iraqi security forces. And, fifty-two more were murdered execution-style by Iraqi forces in September 2013.
These residents at Camp Liberty are striving for liberty and democracy in #Iran. They have come under increasing pressure after #Tehran signed a nuclear agreement with 5+1 powers. Since then the West has exercised silence and closed his eyes on this crisis in Camp Liberty in order to make satisfy the regime ruling #Iran. We call all human right defenders to put pressure on Iraqi government to stop such inhumanity behavior in Camp Liberty and remind the U.S. that has a special moral and legal obligation to the residents to protect their lives.
